Mission:

• Preserve the peace and order in Laclede County by supporting the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the State of Missouri.
• Investigate incidents, seek criminal charges when necessary, and work with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to see that the rights of law-abiding citizens are protected.
• Treat any and all individuals with fairness, respect, and dignity.
• Establish an open-door policy where all citizens will be treated equally, with preferential treatment for none.
• Implement a community watch program, and get the public involved.
• Reestablish the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) or a similar program in Laclede County.
• Procure a dog for search-and-rescue operations and drug detection.
• Launch a reserve deputy program.
• Make Laclede County a safer, better place to raise our children and grandchildren.

Background and Experience:
• Peace Officer, certified by the State of Missouri.
• Graduate of Missouri Sheriffs’ Training Academy.
• Seven years of experience as a deputy sheriff.
• Lifelong resident of the Laclede County area.
• Proven self-starter, business owner/operator with a strong background in organizational planning, operating, coordinating, supervising, reporting, and budgeting.
• 23-year veteran of the Army National Guard.
• School board member for 9 years.
• Volunteer firefighter.
• Responsible, stable, hard-working with a strong work ethic.
• Active church member for 35 years. Dedicated to Christian values, family, and public service.
• Family-oriented. Married to my high school sweetheart, Freida, for 44 years. We have 3 sons and 5 grandchildren.
